The conditions we Treat

With many diseases that once required invasive surgery, Interventional Radiology (IR) is quickly becoming treatment of choice by many doctors.  Interventional Radiology is a minimally invasive method of treatment which can provide similar results as open surgery with faster recovery time, less discomfort and fewer complications.

Arterial and Venous Diseases

Because the vascular system is so complex and far reaching, diseases can appear anywhere in the body in many different forms. Arterial and vascular disease often occurs along with other diseases like diabetes or heart disease. The most common include, PAD, CVI, and May-Thurner Syndrome.

Peripheral Vascular Disease

Peripheral artery disease is a narrowing of the peripheral arteries that carry blood away from the heart to other parts of the body. The most common type is lower-extremity PAD, in which blood flow is reduced to the legs and feet.

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)

Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is a condition that occurs when the venous wall and/or valves in the leg veins are not working effectively, making it difficult for blood to return to the heart from the legs. CVI causes blood to “pool” or collect in these veins, and this pooling is called stasis.

May Thurner

A rare vascular disorder in which an artery compresses a vein in your pelvis. This compression can cause symptoms in your left or right leg and foot and may lead to blood clots.

Men's Health

A variety of problems can occur in men involving their blood vessels. In some cases, blood flow into the area is not adequate and needs to be opened. In other cases, there may be overgrowth of tissues or blockage of blood flow that needs to be corrected to restore function.

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

A condition in which the prostate is enlarged. With BPH, there is an overgrowth of prostate tissue which pushes against the urethra and the bladder, blocking the flow of urine.

Varicocele

An enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, is not unlike the varicose veins that appear in the legs. It occurs in about one in six males. An enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, is not unlike the varicose veins that appear in the legs. It occurs in about one in six males.

Women's Health

Women have unique vascular needs. Vascular health extends beyond that of the heart and can strongly affect a woman’s abdominal comfort and health, such as with uterine fibroids and pelvic congestion.

Uterine Fibroids

A common type of noncancerous tumor that can grow in and on the uterus. Uterine Fibroids can grow in and around the uterus, causing bleeding and pelvic discomfort.

Pelvic Congestion Syndrome

A condition that causes chronic pelvic pain. It's thought to be caused by problems with the veins in the pelvic area.

Pain Management

If you are experiencing lack of circulation, pain, or heaviness in certain areas, you might be having vascular pain. This develops when there is interruption in blood flow to a tissue, organ or nerves. Often times pain can be centralized in the shoulder known as Adhesive Capsulitis or in the knee known as Osteoarthritis.

Osteoarthritis

A novel minimally-invasive procedure providing immediate and long term pain relief for patients with osteoarthritis (OA), by reducing the blood flow to the lining of the knee.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

Frozen shoulder, also called adhesive capsulitis, causes pain and stiffness in the shoulder. Over time, the shoulder becomes very hard to move.
